Description
Portrait – Woodcut
This artwork is created using the woodcut technique, one of the oldest and most traditional methods in printmaking. The process involves carving an image into a wooden block, which is then inked and printed onto paper, producing a unique print.
In this piece, during my studies, I depicted myself by looking into a makeshift mirror in the printmaking studio, making it deeply personal and introspective. Through the bold lines and textures characteristic of woodcut, the portrait captures not only physical features but also inner essence and emotions.
This self-representation, created through an age-old technique, connects the past with the present, blending tradition with individual expression.
